      <title>Legends of League Power Rankings after 10 Rounds</title>
      <description>&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;LEGENDS OF LEAGUE POWER RANKINGS&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;By Gill Phould&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;Yes I'm back and after 10 thrilling rounds of NRLCEO, the Legends of League Ladders are hotting up and the cream is starting to rise to the top.  Speaking of rise, the QLD origin team looks simply awesome on paper and I am predicting them to sweep my beloved Blues and send Ricky back to the drawing board...&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;My little buddy Ricky Stuart won't be coaching the Blues season and let's be honest, we are all sick over his over analysis in the 8 weeks prior to the first SOO game.  Anyway, enough origin talk - let's look at the top teams in the Legends of League Competition after 10 rounds.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Rather than go through each competition, I have decided to talk about the top 10 teams across the 12 LOL Competitions.  Here are my contentious rankings:&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;RANK 1:  Team Enormous (Peter Sterling Competition)&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;The guru team of the Peter Sterling Competition are dead set flying and before the Storm took a tumble last week to the Sharkies, they were seen modelling their game on that of Team Enormous.  The guru team sit atop the ladder, undefeated on 20 points and looking like millionaires!  They have scored a whopping 681 points to this point which equates to a daunting 68 points per game.  Team Enormous look like certainties to take out this competition and will do so in a canter, defending their title and returning for another stint in the Champion's League.  &lt;strong&gt;Thatman&lt;/strong&gt; are the only ones who will push Team Enormous with the rest all going on an early mad Monday.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;RANK 2:  Wonka's Chocolate Factory (Reg Gasnier Competition)&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;The squad of Oompa Loompas are cruising and have the second best attack of any team in any competition.  694 points at and average just under 70 is impressive and sees the boys from Cadburyland ruling with a 9-1 record.  Wonka does have some stiff opposition in the form of &lt;strong&gt;Champion's Elect&lt;/strong&gt; and &lt;strong&gt;The Faceless Men&lt;/strong&gt; but the talk is about how the gurus, the &lt;strong&gt;Rock Hudson P00fs,&lt;/strong&gt; can rise to the occasion and break through for a 2013 Champion's League spot.  The P00fs currently sit in fourth position and in all reality, this comp is Wonka's to lose with only a major injury crisis likely to stop them from charging forward to meet much stiffer competition in the Champion's League.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;RANK 3:  NQ Raiders (Mal Meninga Competition)&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;The NQ Raiders love their NRLCEO and that love is being reciprocated by the virtual gods at the moment.  They sit atop the Mal Meninga ladder on 18 points, having netted 613 points so far this season.  Being 6 points clear from their nearest rival appears to see the boys from NQ cruising towards the minor premiership and it is uncertain as to who, if anyone can stop them.  Guru team and defending champion, &lt;strong&gt;Dominant Tackle&lt;/strong&gt; have had a poor start to the season and sit in lowly 7th position.  &lt;strong&gt;Gosford Goblins &lt;/strong&gt;have the strike power and loom as the Raiders major obstacle in the quest for LOL glory.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;RANK 4:  Drunken Slurries (Graeme Langlands Competition)&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;The Drunken Slurries lead the comp and look destined to reach NRLCEO immortality.  They have a 9-1 record so far and have scored over 60 points per game.  No other team is really stepping up to be the major challenger in this comp when really, any of the top 6 are capable.  Guru team and defending champion, the &lt;strong&gt;Bandits &lt;/strong&gt;are one of those teams but they will need to dramatically improve their points differential if they are to benefit from a top two position come finals time.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;RANK 5:  Steel Ballers (Wally Lewis Competition)&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;As always, the Wally Lewis Competition is a drama charged one with upsets galore.  The Steel Ballers have gained a top 5 power ranking based on the strength of the competition and their ability to score points. They sit in second place on the ladder with an 8-2 record and just a draw behind the &lt;strong&gt;Late Night Blackouts&lt;/strong&gt;.  The Steel Baller's attack which has yielded them 647 points, has them in prime position to gain a top two position.  Guru team and defending champions, the &lt;strong&gt;Gurus&lt;/strong&gt;, sit in 3rd position and are ready to pounce.  A 73 all draw with LNB captured the competition's attention and their class can not be denied despite currently having a gun backline which is firing blanks.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;RANK 6:  Late Night Blackouts (Wally Lewis Competition)&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Controversially, LNB have been bumped down the power rankings by their lower laddered&lt;strong&gt; Steel Baller&lt;/strong&gt; rivals but this is solely due to scoring potential.  LNB have scored an average of 5 points per game less than their rivals which doesn't sound like much.  However, in a tight competition, that can mean the difference between a win and a loss.  LNB have the potential to take it all the way but they face tough opponents across the origin period.  This competition's minor premiership will be won by whoever dodges the origin and bye bullets over the next 2 months.  For mine, the &lt;strong&gt;Gurus&lt;/strong&gt; are still the class.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;RANK 7:  The Dentites (Allan Langer Competition)&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Is it dejavu for the Dentites or are all they seriously here to play in 2012?  After complacency destroyed their 2011 finals campaign, the Dentites are out to claim a much needed title in 2012.  They want the Champion's League spot so bad it hurts Coach Dentite.  With a 8-2 record and an attack which has scored 632 points, the Dentites are the real deal, just as they were in 2011.  Together with Allan Langer rivals, the &lt;strong&gt;Wallalong Emus&lt;/strong&gt; and 2011 champions, &lt;strong&gt;Injury Brigade&lt;/strong&gt;, the big three make up the top three positions.  One thing is for certain, one of these teams will win the competition.  The only question is:  Will the Dentites choke their way to another failed finals campaign.....&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;RANK 8:  The Clyde Frowgs (Bob Fulton Competition)&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;The Fowgs don't lead the comp and instead sit in third position behind &lt;strong&gt;Dropz Boyz&lt;/strong&gt; and &lt;strong&gt;North Sydney Bears&lt;/strong&gt;.  So why do they make the Power Rankings top ten?  Simple - they have scored a whopping 699 points this season!  With a 7-3 record the Frowgs feature in my calculations based on their scoring potential.  With luck over origin, they will continue to rise up the ladder which should see them collect the minor premiership on points differential.  Gurus, the &lt;strong&gt;Jehovahs&lt;/strong&gt; appear to be gone and champions, the &lt;strong&gt;Bucca Bulldogs&lt;/strong&gt; sit just a win behind the favourites.  However, the Bulldogs don't have the attack that took them to the 2011 title and they will unlikely feature in the 2013 Champion's League.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;RANK 9:  Square Bears (Johnny Raper Competition)&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Once again, the Square Bears have shown their liking for NRLCEO and they sit in second place behind the &lt;strong&gt;Sydney Cybermen&lt;/strong&gt;.  However, the defending champion's attack is slightly better than their rival.  This is not a considerable difference though and either team will fancy themselves come finals time.  Whichever team remains intact through the origin series will win the minor premiership with both teams likely to meet in the grand final qualifier in week 1 of the finals.  After a scathing attack on their credentials, the guru &lt;strong&gt;Bessies&lt;/strong&gt; team have responded and have risen up the ladder and now sit in third position with a 7-3 record.  They are the dark horse but their attack does not rival their more fancied opposition.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;RANK 10:  The Gurus (Wally Lewis Competition)&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;The Gurus are the defending champions of the Wally Lewis Competition and they ooze class.  They gain their Power Ranking via a 6-1-3 record and 560 points in attack.  With the Wally Lewis Competition being a strong one, the Gurus have their work cut out for them if they are to defend their title.  However, the cream will rise come finals time and if they can secure a top two finish, they will be almost impossible to defeat!&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;THE NEXT TEN:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Champions Elect, Sydney Cybermen, Injury Brigade, Wallalong EMUS, Forestville Ferrets, Dropz Boyz, Redwing Conquisadors, Thatman, The Faceless Men, North Sydney Bears.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;So there you have it - my top ten teams and the next ten, who are waiting, ready to pounce!  There is plenty of time for my predictions to come true and no doubt the byes will effect many teams' chances to secure a finals spot.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;I'll be back later in the season just in time for the run into the finals!  Until then - G&lt;strong&gt;o the MAROONS!&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</description>

      <title>LEGENDS OF LEAGUE</title>

The &lt;strong&gt;Steel Ballers&lt;/strong&gt; are the standout team in this one having amassed 462 points.  &lt;strong&gt;Late Night Blackouts&lt;/strong&gt; also seemed primed for a big season and share top spot on the ladder with a 6-1 record.  &lt;strong&gt;Botany Warriors&lt;/strong&gt; and &lt;strong&gt;Sheriff Mach 2&lt;/strong&gt; are also not without a chance but with plenty to come back from injury I'm going to make a big call and say the &lt;strong&gt;Gurus&lt;/strong&gt; will have amassive post origin run to reclaim their Wally Lewis title.  There are no dark horses in this one - what you see is what you get and the &lt;strong&gt;Gurus &lt;/strong&gt;are all class..&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: left; "&gt;The &lt;strong&gt;Allan Langer Competition&lt;/strong&gt; is starting to resemble 2011 with the guru &lt;strong&gt;Dentites&lt;/strong&gt; team leading the way, out in front like granny's tooth.  However, Coach Dentite has assured me that heis 100% active this season and will not be resting on his laurels.  The &lt;strong&gt;Dentites &lt;/strong&gt;have scored 465 points this season and have it won in my expert opinion.  &lt;strong&gt;Team Albert&lt;/strong&gt; shares the lead also with a 6-1 record but they are dead set pretenders - aka the NRL Sharks.  The real challenge will come from the fourth placed &lt;strong&gt;Wallalong EMUS&lt;/strong&gt;.  Sitting in third, the &lt;strong&gt;Injury Brigade&lt;/strong&gt; coach has bigger fish to fry in the Champions League and will fall off the pace trying to get their team off the bottom of the premier competition - they are no chance of defending their Allan Langer title...&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: left; "&gt;The &lt;strong&gt;Andrew Johns Competition&lt;/strong&gt; sees the &lt;strong&gt;Shamrocks &lt;/strong&gt;and &lt;strong&gt;Bundjalung Bobcats&lt;/strong&gt; sit on top of the ladder with the guru &lt;strong&gt;Forestville Ferrets &lt;/strong&gt;also having a 6-1 record.  &lt;strong&gt;Cook's Crushers&lt;/strong&gt; sit a win behind andhave the best attack with 425 points. After talking to the Ferret's Coach, I am mirroring his confidence and agree that he is a lock to retain his Andrew Johns title.  The bottom six teams look like busted tomatoes and are no chance of a post origin burst to the semi-finals.  For me it's the &lt;strong&gt;Ferrets&lt;/strong&gt; all the way, only because no teams are standing out in the attack department (just like the NRL Panthers)!&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: left; "&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Artie Beetson&lt;/strong&gt;, rest his soul, would love the look of his Legends of League Competition with 9 out of 10 teams capable of racking up the points on their day.  &lt;strong&gt;Wayno's Warriors&lt;/strong&gt; also love it at the moment and they sit atop the ladder after racking up and impressive 473 points this season. The &lt;strong&gt;Central Coach Eels&lt;/strong&gt; sit in equal second with the &lt;strong&gt;Slapheads&lt;/strong&gt; on 10 points.  Guru team and defending champions, the &lt;strong&gt;Last Dregs&lt;/strong&gt; have struggled this season and sit well off the pace in fourth place. &lt;strong&gt;South Park Cows&lt;/strong&gt; are the best of the rest and are certainly worthy adversaries.   Unfortunately for them, and all the others, the &lt;strong&gt;Warriors &lt;/strong&gt;appear to becertainties when it comes to title favourites and they will get the chocolates in this one, leaving the &lt;strong&gt;Dregs&lt;/strong&gt; outin the cold come September!&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: left; "&gt;Guru team, &lt;strong&gt;Mr Justice's Jehovah's&lt;/strong&gt; are packing fudge down in seventh position in the &lt;strong&gt;Bob Fulton Competition&lt;/strong&gt; and are at long odds to feature in the finals.  &lt;strong&gt;Dropz Boyz&lt;/strong&gt; despite having the worst team name in the competition are leading the way with a 6-1 record but the real deal, &lt;strong&gt;The Clyde Frowgs&lt;/strong&gt; are the team to beat.  They have racked up 457 points so far this season and sit in second place with a 5-2 record.   &lt;strong&gt;Men of Steel&lt;/strong&gt; and &lt;strong&gt;North Sydney Bears&lt;/strong&gt; also share that record with the defending Champions, the &lt;strong&gt;Bucca Bulldogs &lt;/strong&gt;lurking a further win away.  The &lt;strong&gt;Bulldogs&lt;/strong&gt; are not without hope though and having the second best attack which has netted 430 points - that will hold them in good stead come the finals run.  It is hard to go past a front runner but my prediction is that &lt;strong&gt;Dropz Boyz&lt;/strong&gt; will choke and the &lt;strong&gt;Bucca Bulldogs&lt;/strong&gt; will reclaim their Bob Fulton title...&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: left; "&gt;The &lt;strong&gt;Clive Churchill Competition&lt;/strong&gt; sees the &lt;strong&gt;Campbell Colts &lt;/strong&gt;lead the way ahead of guru team the &lt;strong&gt;Wendells&lt;/strong&gt;.  The &lt;strong&gt;Colts &lt;/strong&gt;have scorched the skies on the way to 484 points but the &lt;strong&gt;Wendells&lt;/strong&gt; aren't far off the pace in terms of workhorse and try scoring potential.  &lt;strong&gt;Burdekin Barflies&lt;/strong&gt; and the &lt;strong&gt;Geriatrics &lt;/strong&gt;are just a win off the pace but both seem to be lacking 10 points per game in the attacking department.  The 2011 Champions, &lt;strong&gt;Smash Em&lt;/strong&gt;, have had a horror run of luck and sit in sixth position with just two wins, despite scoring 447 points!  One gets the feeling that their luck was used up last season and that the Virtual Gods are saying "no more" to the &lt;strong&gt;Smash Em&lt;/strong&gt; boys.  The &lt;strong&gt;Wendells &lt;/strong&gt;are very hungry to claim a place in the 2013 Champions League and I think they are the best equipped to do so.  Having said that, the coach is a dead set lunatic and they will choke.  For me it's the &lt;strong&gt;Colts&lt;/strong&gt; all the way!!  &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: left; "&gt;The &lt;strong&gt;Graeme Langlands &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Competition&lt;/strong&gt; sees the guru team anddefending champions, &lt;strong&gt;Booky's Bandits &lt;/strong&gt;lamenting down in sixth position and longing for some NRLCEO love and a sausage roll.  The &lt;strong&gt;Drunken Slurries&lt;/strong&gt; are familiar to top level play and sit on top ofthe ladder with a 6-1 record.  In a cracking competition, any of the top seven teams could win this one with only 40 attacking points separating the best and the worst.  Upsets will be aplenty in this competition but for me I'm going with the team with the best name - the &lt;strong&gt;Redwing Conquistadors&lt;/strong&gt;!  They share second place with &lt;strong&gt;Aussie Pistons&lt;/strong&gt; and have enough form to warrant favouritism..&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: left; "&gt;Every time I look at the &lt;strong&gt;Johnny Raper Competition&lt;/strong&gt; I feel a little bit of vomit rise into my mouth.  Not because it is a poor competition - quite the opposite in fact.  The reason is that the &lt;strong&gt;Bessie Point Mudskippers&lt;/strong&gt; Coach somehow got the honour of being a 'guru'.  Seriously, the &lt;strong&gt;Mudskipper&lt;/strong&gt; coach is a hack and they sit accordingly down in sixth position, clueless about how to play NRLCEO after 10 long years!  Anyway, &lt;strong&gt;Square Bears&lt;/strong&gt; are once again giving them a master class and sit atop the ladderwith a 6-1 record.  Their competition willcome from &lt;strong&gt;Sydney Cybermen&lt;/strong&gt;, who has scored slightly more points in attack so far this season.  &lt;strong&gt;Chopped Liver Jr&lt;/strong&gt;, the &lt;strong&gt;Bankstown Kebabs &lt;/strong&gt;and &lt;strong&gt;Obelix and Co&lt;/strong&gt; are not without a chance but for me it is hard to go past the defending champions - the &lt;strong&gt;Square Bears&lt;/strong&gt;.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: left; "&gt;The &lt;strong&gt;Mal Meninga Competition&lt;/strong&gt; has some familiar names from 2011 and it is the &lt;strong&gt;NQ Raiders&lt;/strong&gt; who lead the competition with a 6-1 record.  &lt;strong&gt;Portugallion&lt;/strong&gt; sit just a win away while the &lt;strong&gt;Gosford Goblins&lt;/strong&gt;, &lt;strong&gt;Sunshine Coast Smashers&lt;/strong&gt; and &lt;strong&gt;Oakland Athletics &lt;/strong&gt;all share a 5-2 record.  In earth shattering news, the guru team and 2011 champions, &lt;strong&gt;Dominant Tackle&lt;/strong&gt;, sit in the lowly ninth position and what's even more concerning; have scored 70 points less than &lt;strong&gt;Threepeat&lt;/strong&gt;.  The latter mysteriously sit at the foot of the ladder despite having scored a 'better thanaverage' 354 points so far this season. So what does all this mean?  &lt;strong&gt;Dominant Tackle&lt;/strong&gt; will get the spoon (and be compared to the &lt;strong&gt;Mudskippers&lt;/strong&gt;) and the top seven teams will battle it out for a spot in the semi-finals.  &lt;strong&gt;NQ Raiders &lt;/strong&gt;will shrug off a disappointing 2011 to take the title and secure their place in the 2013 Champions League.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: left; "&gt;So far there have been no undefeated teams but the &lt;strong&gt;Peter Sterling Competition&lt;/strong&gt; has two teams that are yet to taste that bitter taste come Tuesday morning.  Guru team and defending champions, &lt;strong&gt;Team Enormous&lt;/strong&gt; lead the way and look to be going back to back after amassing 475 points thanks to a firing backline and Gallen-like forward pack.  &lt;strong&gt;Thatman&lt;/strong&gt; are also undefeated but are nomatch for the defending champions, having scored an average of 10 points less each week.  The rest appear to be making up the numbers with &lt;strong&gt;Getuda Choppers&lt;/strong&gt;and &lt;strong&gt;Howick's Hard Men&lt;/strong&gt; the only ones likely to cause a ripple on &lt;strong&gt;Team Enormous'&lt;/strong&gt; ocean of dreams...&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: left; "&gt;The &lt;strong&gt;Rock Hudson's &lt;/strong&gt;are causing more guru grief as they fail to come to terms with their competition in the &lt;strong&gt;Reg Gasnier&lt;/strong&gt;.  They sit in fifth position and are lacking about 10 points per game.  The leaders, &lt;strong&gt;Wonkas Chocolate Factory&lt;/strong&gt; sit all by themselves with a 6-1 record and have wreaked havoc, scoring a whopping 485 points along the way.  &lt;strong&gt;Champions Elect&lt;/strong&gt; and &lt;strong&gt;The Faceless Men&lt;/strong&gt; are just a win away but currently lack the fire power to do anything about it.  The unlucky team in this competition is &lt;strong&gt;Metro City&lt;/strong&gt; who has scored an average of 60 points per game but has only collected 3 wins for their trouble.  For mine, the &lt;strong&gt;WCF&lt;/strong&gt; will be hard to beat and will welcome a position in the 2013 Champions League!&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: left; "&gt;The &lt;strong&gt;Ruben Wiki Competition&lt;/strong&gt; sees the top three teams all sport a 5-2 record.  The best of those is &lt;strong&gt;Men of Steel&lt;/strong&gt; with the &lt;strong&gt;Beagles &lt;/strong&gt;and &lt;strong&gt;Western Sydney&lt;/strong&gt; both verycapable.  The guru and &lt;strong&gt;Dribbler&lt;/strong&gt; outfit sits just a win off the pace after a draw with the fifth placed &lt;strong&gt;Old Bar Maggots&lt;/strong&gt; stunted their drive to the top of the ladder.  However, this short fall from grace should be short lived for the defending champions with the &lt;strong&gt;Dribblers&lt;/strong&gt; likely to retain their title on class alone.  &lt;strong&gt;FantasyKings&lt;/strong&gt; are worthy of a mention and sit in sixth position but don't look like the force they were in 2011.  This competition is one where any of the top 6 are more than capable of securing that coveted Champion's League place.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: left; "&gt;So there you have it - a third of the way through the season and we have some clear cut title favourites.       <title>NRLCEO DREAM TEAM</title>
      <description>&lt;div&gt;Quite an evenly distributed week for the first round with byes for this season.  There were no clear stand outs, but Jarryd Hayne and Kevin Kingston were the leaders of a low scoring week.  Despite his woeful kicking (which had NRLCEO coaches screaming), Corey Parker still made the Team of the Week thanks to a Double Work Horse, TA and LBA.  Johnathan Thurston (116) continued his return to form as he continues to climb the overall point scoring stakes.  He trails Cam Smith (124) at the top, with James Maloney (110) not too far behind.  Taking out goal kicking, Billy Slater (82) still has a comfortable lead over Cooper Cronk (61), Paul Gallen (60) and Matt Bowen (59).  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Of course Origin squads were named this week.  Queensland didn't surprise anyone with their selections, but then why would they need to when they are aiming for a seventh straight series victory.  The New South Welshmen (myself one of them) seem to be losing interest, and by throwing Jamie Buhrer and Ben Creagh into the mix, we are not filled with confidence.  If we are going to lose, let's look good doing it.  Tariq Sims and Josh Reynolds can consider themselves very unlucky in my opinion.  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong style="font-size: large; Quick Draw:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;ul&gt;    &lt;li&gt;Ideal for private or public competitions with between 2 and 16 teams &lt;/li&gt;    &lt;li&gt;Particularly short, sharp and exciting.  &lt;strong&gt;A 25 round competition can be done in under an hour.&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;/li&gt;    &lt;li&gt;Once the recruitment time is completed, players are then able to be picked up until squads are full - this is only required if a coach missed the opportunity to pick up a player in any round in the draft &lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;Each of the Live Drafts has a time limit that a coach can take to select a player. If that time limit is exceeded, then a random player is selected. If a Pre-Draft List is made by a coach, the player at the top of the list will be selected.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;5.       <title>TIPS FROM THE GURUS</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;Here are a number of important things to do and don't do when preparing for your draft and then during the draft itself. Following these tips will have you headed in the right direction, but we cannot guarantee you a Premiership. Only the NRLCEO Gods (or former Melbourne Storm CEO Brian Waldrom) can do that.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 13px; "&gt;THINGS TO DO:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;1. DO. Know your league point scoring system. Well.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This may sound fairly obvious (and it is) but you'd be surprised at how many coaches forget to look at the scoring system of their competition and choose the wrong types of players accordingly. Each competition in NRLCEO has a customisable scoring system and if your competition does not reward try assists then there is no point picking your two favourite halfbacks/five eighths in the first three rounds. The order in which you choose the positions in your team can also be crucial. Some coaches select a star backline first, but then miss out on the consistency of a regular scoring forward pack. Make sure you have a blend of star backs, halves and forwards.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;2. DO. Get to know the NEW rules for 2012.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There are two new rules in 2012 that you need to be aware of. The first is fairly self-explanatory. 40/20's are now included meaning a few extra points for your halves throughout the season. Bearing in mind this happens rarely. Do not focus on halves for this reason along. Secondly, is the introduction of the Double Work Horse. You asked for it., we have provided it. So those hard working forwards can now earn you huge points for an outstanding performance. The new level is based on 60+ tackles and hitups combined as well as over 120m or more in runs for Front Rowers and Back Rowers. For Hooker, this is set at 50+ tackles and hitups as well as 100m or more in runs. To give you a better idea of who these candidates are we have included a "DWH" column in each team stats breakdown further on in the guide.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;3. DO. Prepare for your draft.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Again, this may sound pretty obvious, but many coaches don't prepare. Some coaches might forget about the draft and print out a bunch of meaningless statistics without much thought. Lists can be your friend, but do yourself a favour and start getting your materials together about a week before your draft. Remember the 7 P's? NRLCEO is no different!!! There is also the option of a pre-draft list which can be populated before your draft begins and will act as a safety net if you somehow can't take your turn.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;4. DO. Draft until the final whistle.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Many coaches can get distracted towards the end of a long draft and place less emphasis on the later picks. Don't be this person. Often, the later picks can be the difference between finishing in the middle of the pack and making the finals. If you can pick up a couple of great late picks you will find yourself I a stronger position. Now the question becomes, who do you pick with these late picks? Most of the players left at the end of the draft are the veterans (you know what you're getting) and the young unproven guys (sink or swim). You should make sure that you have enough veterans to cover your bench, but throw caution to the wind and pick some rookies with the rest of your picks. These are the guys that could be the difference in your competition.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;5. DO. Know your League Members.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This rule may not apply to all NRLCEO coaches because they may be in a public league but for those playing in a private league where they know the other coaches, this can be key. If you have known your opponents for years, then you know their tendencies. You might know that one opponent is a sucker for big name players that don't necessarily do well in NRLCEO. Another tip is if you all do your draft together it's a good idea to bring some beers to the draft. It's a guarantee that at least one guy will get distracted making it easier for you to draft the squad you want!!!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 13px; "&gt;THINGS NOT TO DO:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Sure, you can do what you like. This is your game, your way, so you certainly don't need to listen to us, but having developed the game and played competitively against ourselves for 10 years now we think we know our stuff. Hopefully a few of our insights will help you in your drafts.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;1. DON'T. Place too much emphasis on the goal kicker.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Ok, so goal kickers are crucial players in NRLCEO and can rack up a majority of your points throughout a season, but you don't want to place all your eggs in one basket. If you are in the first three picks, sure have a crack. Don't be concerned if the first five teams select their goal kickers straight up in the draft. There are plenty of great goal kickers in the NRL and the generic NRLCEO rules allow a first choice goal kicker to always be available, even if your kicker gets injured throughout the year. Yes, you want a good kicker, but there are plenty of good ones out there!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;2. DON'T. Get caught up in a position run.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Position runs happen in every draft. That is when a coach takes a star centre (or any position), and everyone else in the competition follows suit so as not to miss out. You don't want to give in to a position run. You want to be the one to start the position run. Ask yourself: "Do I want the third best frontrower or the best of another position..."&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;3. DON'T. Take your rookies too early.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Rookies can often be everyone's favourite draft picks. Will you be the one to claim the rookie that goes on rack up the points in his maiden season? Everyone has their list of rookies that they have seen or read about and is 'destined to be the next best thing'. Some people become a little too nervous about missing out on their rookies so they take them four or five rounds too early. Generally, rookies should be picked up in the 15th or 16th rounds of the draft, not the 10th! Rookies are unknown quantities and they certainly don't always work out. They may only get minimal minutes, games, or even not play at all. If you take this advice and your rookie selection doesn't pan out to be a good one, at least you didn't select him too early in the draft and sacrifice the opportunity to get a solid player.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;4. DON'T. Take the draw into consideration when drafting.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Often people will overanalyse the NRL draw and decide against picking certain players because they are playing a few tough games early in the season, because they have a bad bye week or because they may be injured for the first few rounds. This should all be taken into consideration later in the season when the run to the finals is underway. During the draft stage, don't let small considerations like this influence your decision between two players.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;5. DON'T. Get sucked in by the reputation.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Example 1: Darren Lockyer. Fantastic player. Will no doubt be inducted as an immortal in the coming years. Rubbish NRLCEO player. Example 2: Fui Fui Moimoi. Strong, explosive runner. Unfortunately his stats do not always equate to Work Horse points.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The moral of this story is that just because a player is a fantastic NRL player, it doesn't automatically translate to NRLCEO stardom. Do your research and think about how the rules apply to particular players. While Lockyer in his prime might have set up the two winning tries of the game and won Man of the Match he may only get 4 points. Jharal Yow Yeh on the other hand may have benefitted from those two balls and scored two tries with two line breaks equaling 10 points. You do the math.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

      <title>ROOKIES GUIDE TO NRLCEO</title>
      <description>&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span&gt;The author of &lt;a href="http://www.fantasynrlblog.com"&gt;fantasynrlblog.com&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/span&gt; plays NRLCEO for the first time.  These are his thoughts...&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;I'm not sure if it's just me and my mates but on a Friday or Saturday night at the pub, after the footy is finished, we developed a habit. That habit was collecting Keno tickets and pencils and staging a live NRL draft. Criteria was different every time: Pick a team to win this year, pick a team to set your club up for the next 5 years, pick the all time greatest team.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Unfortunately there was never any winner, everyone thought their team was the best (mine would have won though) But a few weeks ago, I came across NRLCEO.COM and got a little excitement in my pants.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Where NRLCEO is different to Foxsports Fantasy, Supercoach etc is that only one team in each comp can 'own' a player. So if you score the first pick and take Corey Parker, he is yours for the season (unless you decide to trade him) The strategy in the draft is constantly changing and unpredictable. If you planned on waiting until later to pick up a half back and all of a sudden 5 teams in front of you all take halves, what do you do? Take a decent one now so you don't miss out or, take a gun player in another position.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt; How to play&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;NRLCEO is best played with your mates, the public competitions will often have players sign up and not attend the live draft (which is the best part of the game) and the auto select picks that they get are a bit random. Small numbers are best, up to 8-10 as a max, I prefer 5-7. There is a good number of known, quality players at that number. &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;The scoring system is customisable, which I like, but it is vital that you check your competitions scoring system as some favour try scorers over hard working forwards or creative halves. The draft format also has a few options (random, staggered, snake, quick draw) The one that I feel works best is the staggered format. You can read about the difference in the how to play section of the site.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;The first question you probably have is 'what is a workhorse try?'  Good question. The answer is any player named in the forwards that makes a combination or 40 or more tackles and runs. Double Workhorse try is double the points but the player must achieve a combination of 60 or more tackles and runs AND run for more than 125 metres. A hooker must make a combination of 50 or more tackles and runs AND more than 75 metres.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;This default scoring value doesn't really appeal to me, only 4 points for a try and no reward for line breaks and try assists. I set my comp up to be more inline with Foxsports Fantasy scoring. &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;You'll see you can also set values for wins, draws and losses, as well as specify if you captain receives normal value (no point) or double value. You can also chose half points or normal points for your bench players. This format is better suited for an even spread of points I feel, the default option is too simple for me but everyone will have their own thoughts and preferences.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;The next part to understand is the squad limits. Again these are customisable, but you need to take a look at what your competition limits are before drafting. If for example, your competition has a squad limit of 2 fullbacks, you'll be unable to select more than 2 players who are eligible to play at fullback. This can cause problems when trying to select utility players later on. The kicker points refers to the maximum combined value of goal kickers you can have in your squad. Every goal kicker has a value from 1-10 and you can only select one goal kicker each round. You could have 4-5 kickers, depending on your leagues limits, but they won't accrue points for goals unless they are your nominated kicker. Having lower kicker limits ensures that kickers will be left over should injuries occur.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Once you've set your league up, established a draft time that all your mates can make, you definitely want to set up your pre-selection players for the draft. It's hard to keep up with who has been picked and who is left otherwise (I set the pick limit to 2 minutes which is best, any more than 5-6 teams and the draft can take a few hours) The pre selection allows you to go through and shortlist players. It's also useful if you get disconnected or miss your turn, the highest eligible player on your pre selection list will be picked for you.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;That 'owning' a player factor is what will make NRLCEO addictive during the season. Pick up a gun rookie late in the draft and you'll be loving life. Take Thurston in round one and have him pick up a long term injury and you're stuck with Scott Porter for the season. You have a squad of 25 and pick 17 players each week, so it's important to get a deep squad to cover injuries and byes. You can trade players, release and sign free agents (customised limits on how many) so if you panicked and picked Liam instead of Keiran Foran, don't give up. Trading players with mates is a lot of fun and gives you a chance to give up a player if you're stacked in that position and pick up where you're weaker.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Due to the customised points and unpredictability of the draw, it's hard to develop pre planned strategies. You can get a copy of a season guide for a few bucks which is handy, especially to see work horse numbers from last year. But again, depending on the scoring system, you may be better off picking as many try scorers/line break fiends over hard working back rowers. &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;If you've got competitive mates who love fantasy, definitely get involved and if you're competitive, get practice with a draft before you sit your one. It helps knowing how to understand who is gone, squad limits etc If you're already playing Fantasy, SuperCoach and Dream Team, you'll love this version of the game.&lt;/div&gt;</description>
