LEGENDS: GF REVIEW

Legends of League - Grand Final review

What a cracking final week of NRLCEO!  There were some brilliant individual performances throughout the weekend and those coaches that selected Robbie Farah, Akuila Uate or Ben Barba certainly got their double points worth!

The Gurus showed that they were aptly named, winning 7 titles all up - an impressive effort!  Those 7 gurus and the other 5 winners will now be invited to enter the 2012 Champions League with the winner to be crowned the Inaugural NRLCEO Champion Coach.  Congratulations must go to all the winners who have survived the challenges set by some very competitive rival coaches throughout the season.

There were some close grand final results and some blow outs but special mention must go to the Dribblers who chalked up a whopping 107 points to dispose of their opposition.

With the NRLCEO season now over, attention now turns to season 2012 where we will be back bigger and better than ever.  The Legends of League Competitions will continue to run next year where obviously a place in the 2013 Champion's League will be on offer.  Of course, the 2012 NRLCEO Champion Coach will gain automatic entry into 2013's tournament!

Overall, it has been a successful year and hasn't it gone quickly!  In 2011, we have seen Queensland take yet another origin series, the Storm power their way to the minor premiership and 144 teams take part in the Legends of League Competitions.  Also on NRLCEO, we have seen the introduction of the sledge page; the new quick draw recruitment method as well as over 10000 teams take part in NRLCEO private and public competitions.

We hope that you have enjoyed your respective competitions and hope to see you all again in February 2012!

Wally Lewis Competition

Grand Final:  You Know it Gurus 85 defeated Macgyvers 53

The 'Emperor of Lank Park' Says:

My prediction was correct!  The Gurus took their game to a new level and will go into next year's Champion of Champions as the people's favourite!  Well done gurus - you deserved the Wally Lewis Title and my wining margin prediction of 24 was close!

Allan Langer Competition

Grand Final:  Wallalong EMUS 71 lost to Injury Brigade 73

Alfie Says:

This was easily the best grand final of the tournament with the final result going right down to the wire.  The EMUS looked the goods all weekend but the Injury Brigade pulled one out of the top drawer late to claim the title.  Both teams deserve to be in the Champion's League but unfortunately there is only one spot.  Injury Brigade will no doubt represent this competition with honour but the talking point of the Allan Langer Comp will always revolve around what happened to the Dentites...

Ruben Wiki Competition

Grand Final:  Dribblers 107 defeated Pyrmont Pirates 26

Rubes Says:

WOW bro!  Nothing could have stopped the Dribbers this weekend bro and what a score to finish the season on!  107 points is a massive score bro and without a kicker the Pirates were never a chance.  Well done guru Dribbler coach bro and good luck in the 2012 Champion of Champions bro!

Johnny Raper Competition

Grand Final:  Old Bar Maggots 41 lost to Square Bears 75

Johnny 'Chook' Raper Says:

My prediction was right and the Square Bears have taken the Raper title and earned their spot in the 2012 Champion of Champions.  Well done to the Square Bears coach and commiserations to the Old Bar Maggots - you had a good season and hopefully we'll see you again next year.

Reg Gasnier Competition

Grand Final:  Diddy Kong Racers 75 defeated Hikurangi Rugby 67

Puff the Magic Dragon Says:

A high scoring grand final and it lived up to my expectations!  My prediction was correct and the Racers only just got over the line from a fast finishing Hikurangi Rugby outfit.  Good luck to the Racers coach who will meet much stiffer competition in the Champion's League next year..

Bob Fulton Competition

Grand Final:  Jehovah's 60 lost to Bucca Bulldogs 67

Robby Says:

What a great prediction!  The Bulldogs have knocked over the gurus by a close margin.  My prediction of Bulldogs by 4 was very close and well done to the Fulton Competition Champions - the Bucca Bulldogs - you have earned your spot in next year's Champion of Champions and I hope you will do us proud!!  Sorry Jehovahs - it just wasn't your day...

Graeme Langlands Competition

Grand Final:  Bookies Bandits 59 defeated Funk Soul Rookies 50

Changa Says:

And yet another prediction that is correct!  Guru team the Bandits have secured the Langlands Title in a solid grand final display.  They will represent us in the Champion's League where the opposition will be even tougher!  Bad luck to the Funk Soul Rookies - you played a good season but fell short in the big dance!

Arthur Beetson Competition

Grand Final:  The Last Dregs 50 defeated the Dullbogs 26

Big Artie Says:

My prediction of a Dregs win has eventuated and that makes yet another guru team into the Champion of Champions Tournament next year.  The Dullbogs were always up against it but when Barba started firing, the game was well and truly over!  Well done Dregs Coach Liberace!

Mal Meninga Competition

Grand Final:  Dominant Tackle 76 defeated NQ Raiders 34

Big Mal Says:

Like I suggested, Dominant Tackle were the team to beat and they didn't disappoint!  The NQ Raiders were always up against it and met the full force of a guru team on their game!  Better luck next year Raiders and good luck in the Champion's League Dominant Tackle - make us proud!  Queenslander!!!!!

Andrew Johns Competition

Grand Final:  Dazraider Dingoes 0 lost to the Forestville Ferrets 61

Joey Says:

Well what a shock!  The Dingoes decided not to show up to the grand final (just like me in the first half of the 2001 GF) and handed the Ferrets a walkover!  This was a poor effort from the Dingo coach and if he would have named his strongest possible squad, his troops would have taken the title by two points.  Nevertheless, the Champion's League wants only the most committed of coaches and the Ferrets will not take their place with the big boys for granted.  Another guru takes the title!!!

Clive Churchill Competition

Grand Final:  Smash Em 59 defeated Broncos 2011/2 53

Clive 'The Little Master' Churchill Says:

Another tight tussle and another correct prediction!  Smash Em claimed the MP and now they have backed it up with a deserving title!  Well done Smash Em and may you man up to face the other champions next year!

                                           PETER STERLING COMPETITION

Grand Final:  Team Enormous 85 defeated Macgyvers 72

Snorky Sterlo Says:

Another prediction proves accurate in a very high scoring grand final and another guru winning the title.  The Macgyvers made it a double of grand final losses and really, no one is crying for them!  Team Enormous deserve their title and will take their place in the Champion's League with pride!  Hopefully the Macgyver coach comes back in 2012 and contributes to the sledge page a little more..
