Position Updates

Positional Changes

The flexibility of TheBench platform and the removal of position restrictions means that for the first time ever we are able to change player positions mid-season.

The rules that we have set aside are that if a player starts three games in a row in a position they are not named as eligible for on NRLCEO then we will change them AFTER their third game.  This allows us to be responsive fairly quickly to changes, but also removes the need to change players if they are only filling in for a position temporarily due to injuries in their squad.

With all that in your melon, we now list all of the players who have had positional changes throughout the year so far:

Josh Hoffman: Full Back, Winger and now Five-Eighth
Adam Quinlan: Half Back, Five Eighth and now Full Back
Dylan Walker: Centre and now Five-Eighth
Sam Perrett: Winger and now Full Back
Jack Wighton: Winger, Centre and now Five-Eighth
Corey Parker: Back Row and now Front Row
Dale Copley: Winger and now Centre
Michael Dobson: Half Back and now Five-Eighth
Michael Morgan: Half Back and now Full Back
Chad Townsend:
Half Back and now Five-Eighth
Leeson Ah Mau: Front Row and now Back Row
Tyson Frizell: Back Row and now Front Row
Terry Campese: Five-Eighth and now Half Back
Mahe Fonua: Winger and now Centre
Daniel Holdsworth: Hooker, Five Eighth and now Half Back
Brad Takairangi: Back Row and now Centre
Bryson Goodwin:
Winger and now Centre
Michael Witt:
Half Back and now Five Eigthth
Peter Hiku: Full Back, Winger and now Centre
Josh Dugan: Full Back and now Centre
Ngani Laumape: Winger and now Centre
Ben Roberts: Five Eighth, Centre and now Half Back
James Roberts: Full Back, Winger and now Centre
Charly Runciman: Centre and now Winger
Mitch Brown: Winger and now Full Back
Daniel Mortimer: Five Eighth, Hooker and now Half Back
Robert Lui: Half Back and now Five Eighth
Mitch Moses: Five Eighth and now Full Back
Johnathan Thurston: Five Eighth and now Half Back

Importantly, kicking points will not be changed at any point during the season.  Even if a player was a first choice kicker at the start of the season and loses the kicking tee, we will not remove kicking points from his profile.  Part of drafting on the site means that you plan for all the kicking points at the start of the year and we don’t want some teams to benefit from changes.

Certainly! That’s been added for him now.

How come Hiku has been added as a centre after starting only 2 games there in a row?

To be fair the League Live App said he has played three games in the centres when I checked at work and then subsequently changed it… Now that I think back it was probably a mistake.

Not reversible? Lucky for whoever has him…

Normally reversible, but we checked the database and 5 teams had already moved him into the centres, therefore causing us more problems to remove the position and then deal with the incorrect data fields than to just leave it for now. I don’t think anyone will win or lose games by it. An error on my behalf so I’m sorry, but yet, lucky for some.

Unfortunately not just yet. It needs to be three games in a row and he played Round 11 against the Raiders in the Front Row.
