Round 11 Injury Report

It’s such a short week that the last thing you need is one of your stars who isn’t playing Origin to not play as well! So here is the last word.

Bulldogs v Roosters

Boyd Cordner

The Bulldogs continue with their clean bill of health this week however their squad has been depleted by Origin commitments meaning Reni Maitua and Krisnan Inu will both make their long awaited returns to the NRL this week.

The Roosters have been dealt a massive blow over the weekend with superstar Boyd Cordner suffering an ankle syndesmosis injury that could rule him out for up to 10 weeks. Dylan Napa has been named to replace Cordner this week but don’t be surprised to see Mitch Aubusson lining up in the number 11 jersey after the Origin period.

Titans v Warriors

The Gold Coast back rower Ashley Harrison has been ruled out for the next seven weeks after suffering a slight neck fracture; this should provide Paul Carter with some extra minutes and should increase his value even further given his dual position status. In a further blow for the Titans’ goal kicking ace Aidan Sezer is set to miss the majority of the season with a pectoral injury. Beau Henry will be given the first crack at Sezer’s spot and given his goal kicking abilities, could be a handy pick up during the Origin period.

There have been rumours that Shaun Johnson could be rested this week after he pulled up sore with a groin injury however, given the Warriors’ position on the table and the fact that Thomas Leuluai is already out injured I would put my money on SJ running out for the Warriors this weekend.

Tigers v Broncos

Good news on the injury front this week for the Tigers as Curtis Sironen is set to make his return in the NSW Cup. Sironen has been ruled out since the Auckland Nines with a foot injury and will be keen to make his way back into the top 17 for the Tigers.

Ben Hannant is expected to make his return for the Broncos this week after overcoming a niggling groin injury.

Raiders v Cowboys

Shannon Boyd has been named at 18th man this week after overcoming a sternum injury and is a strong chance of being included in the side to take on the Cowboys.

For the Cowboys, hard working back rower Gavin Cooper could be due to miss the rest of the NRLCEO Fantasy season after he dislocated his hip last weekend. Cooper should be on track to make a return to the Cow’s come finals times but is essentially useless now to any NRLCEO coach so if you had him, hopefully you picked up Ethan Lowe. Cameron King also continues his unlucky streak with injury after it was confirmed he had an ACL tear and will require a knee reconstruction; this kid was once touted as a potential NSW hooker but after a horrendous run with injury will most likely be fighting to save his career in the next few seasons. In some good news for the Cowboys Curtis Rona, Jason Taumalolo and Ray Thompson are all expected to play this week.

Sharks v Rabbitohs

Issac Luke

The Sharks’ horror run with injury continues this week with Todd Carney, Beau Ryan and Anthony Tupou all set to spend some time on the sidelines. Daniel Holdsworth, Jonathon Wright and Tinirau Arona have all been named to replace the injured stars.

There were rumors last week that Issac Luke could be a chance of playing this week. Given the fact the Rabbit’s are playing against an underperforming Cronulla team I would say that Luke will be given another week to get his shoulder right for a round 12 return against the Dragons.
