Introducing Captains Call

Welcome to the new Captains Call for 2017, here is a little introduction for the upcoming year.

For those of you who utilise the ‘Captain’ double point option in your league, you understand the importance of picking a good captain each week. It could mean the difference between a win or a loss, a finals place or missing out, could even be the difference in winning or losing a Grand Final. This year, each week, I will be selecting 5 players who I think could be a valuable captain for that week, whether it’s a ‘Safe Bet’ or a ‘Risk and Reward’ choice.

Example:

James Graham – Safe Bet – Last year Graham was the highest point scorer in the competition averaging six points a games, although he didn’t score a try, he didn’t miss a single workhorse and managed to get 10 double workhorses on the way.

Corey Oates – Risk and Reward – Last year Brisbane played Parramatta twice, for both those game Oates averaged 12 points per game, if he repeats the dose this game it will be a great choice for captain.

So if you are having a massive dilemma a day out before the first game of the round and cant choose who to captain, have a look at who I’ve picked, it may just win you the game.
