Captains Call: Round 24

Welcome to week 24 and final edition of Captains Call for the year.

Well done to all those teams that made it through to the next week of the finals. Better luck next year to those who lost and a sincere commiseration to those who lost to Captain Cook (I was one of those).

It would be an interesting stat to see how many teams have made the finals or even the Grand final while having Damien Cook and Latrell Mitchell in their team. I am in two competitions where a team has them both and both those teams have made their respective Grand finals.

Let’s review the five from last week:

James Tedesco – 12

Josh Addo-Carr – 6

Payne Haas – 5

John Bateman – 4

James Fisher-Harris – 5

The worst of the week went to John Bateman, not like you can complain with four points but would have liked a few more.

Both Payne Hass and James Fisher-Harris made five points. Both got a workhorse with Haas getting a line break and Fisher-Harris a line break assist.

Josh Addo-Carr made six points with a try and two-line breaks. Could have been 10 but some how he got chased down by Phillip Sami in try saver of the year.

James Tedesco was best of the week with 12. A try, two try assists, two-line breaks and two-line break assists is a pretty nice score for your captain.

I’m not going to preview five for the week as by now, those who are in the finals would have a good indication who they will captain this week. Don’t forget to look at who that player might be playing against this week. Also look at who you are up against, if you think you’re behind the eight ball from the start then you might need to take a bigger risk. You’d be safe to pick anyone of the NRLCEO Dream Team to get you some points.

My one pick would be Latrell Mitchell against the Panthers this week, could be a blow out.

Good luck to everyone this week and for the rest of the finals series.
