Apisai will make you happy…

Koroisau

Hello CEO’s, how does your team find you this round? It can’t be too good you’re looking for rookie advice? But that’s cool, one man doth maketh an organisation and a rookie can often be a great Point of Difference.

Enough with the fancy stuff lets have a look at a Holden Cup graduate filling in for Isaac Luke. After a nasty injury to Luke, Apisai Koroisau has the potential to be an 80-minute hooker for up to 10 weeks while Luke recovers.

Koroisau went to the World Cup with Fiji and has been plying is trade with North Sydney since graduating from the Holden Cup. Koroisau seems to have a jink more than a step, it looks like his foot work confuses defenders, whatever gets the line break statistic though right?

Koroisau has nice a hands and a bit of creativity especially at the try line, he can pick the right pass to get a big guy over the line, he has a try assist stat with in his game. I can’t see defence being a problem, he doesn’t have the greatest technique but he has the heart to get in front of the big guys.

I said earlier in the year to grab big Shannon Boyd, he is now a starting prop in Canberra. Boyd has been solid but not spectacular, it is far harder for a young prop to be spectacular, he is still maturing and will be for some time. If you are looking for a prop, he is someone I would suggest is on a slow and steady rise. As Geoff Adams writes in his Workhorse Watch article, “Boyd is another one to keep an eye on if you’re looking for depth and need some workhorse potential. He had 33 involvements in 32 minutes for an SPM of 1.03.”

Lastly for round 4, Moses Mbye watch.

Mbye still sits in his number 19 jersey this week. He must surely be hoping for a pulled hamstring in the warm up.

In today’s game with fullbacks being a dynamic five eight, I would be testing him under the high ball at training. The kid has talent and I’m sure no coach would be taking him off halfway through a reserve grade game just so he can hang out with the NRL boys during their warm up.

He must surely be in the plans for the near future, either way I will be watching closely, I’m on it!

Good luck this week coaches, scouts, CEO’s. Prove me wrong and have you successfully run your whole club!
