Lock it in Eddie! How to update “Locks” in your League

In 2019 we have finally decided to move with the modern trends of rugby league.

Instead of back rowers consisting of the players wearing jerseys #11, #12 and #13, instead we will call out the lock position as a unique position of it’s own.

Players such as Jason Taumalolo, Sam Burgess and Jai Arrow are all the size of front rowers but play as locks. They are simply not back rowers. So some players will be listed as dual front row/lock and others dual back row/lock. Depending on their style of play.

This change will be rolled out across all competitions to keep position consistency across the site.

We have rolled this change out across the public leagues such as Legends of League and Supporters League. It will also be in place automatically in any new competitions created from now on.

If you have a paid league then you need to follow the steps below to add locks to your league.

Step 1: Go to Competition Settings

Step 2: Go to League Settings

Click the breadcrumb to get to your League Settings.

Step 3: Click Edit Positions and Scoring

Step 4: Edit Back Row (#13)

Click the Edit icon on the Row 13

Step 5: Change Label of Lock

Change the Label to “Lock” and the abbreviation to “LK”

Step 6: Change group to “Lock”

Click the Advanced Tab and then change the group drop down from “Back Row” to “Lock”

Step 7: Add to “Suggest For”

If you want the Lock position to appear on the players page as a “Suggest For” link then make sure you have the “Suggest” tick box ticked for the #13 row.

Who will be the gun locks?

Once you’ve locked this into place in your League the next question you will be asking is who is the most valuable in this position.

Make sure you buy a copy of the Season Guide (released on 26 January 2019) to find out all the players listed as Lock and the top draft prospects.

Is there an alternative?

Yes. If your competition is vehemently against this new lock position then get in touch with us on Facebook, Twitter or email us.

We can setup your competition so that you control the positions yourselves and you can return to what your competition has traditionally run in the past.

We must warn you there’s a bit of manual work on your behalf, but we can steer you in the right direction.
