Round 22 Dream Team

Looking at the best performances each week to determine the Team of the Week and using the player’s season totals to determine the overall Dream Team for 2016 on a week by week basis.

Round 22 Team of the Week:

NRLCEO Team of the Week Round 22 2016

From an individual scoring perspective it was very low scoring this week. It’s actually the lowest scoring Player of the Week since Dylan Napa (14) in Round 6.

Englishman Josh Hodgson (12) takes the Player of the Week honours and probably deserved a lot more points actually. His two try assists, line break, line break assist, workhorse and metre eater from a massive 121 metres was a masterful display against the top of the table Sharks.

There was a tie in second place between four players, but one of them was head and shoulders above the rest. Young Nathan Cleary (11) tore the Roosters apart last night. It was a performance well beyond his years and I’m still salivating over his chip kick to the corner which put Tyrone Peachey over for a try. It was his highest NRLCEO score of his nine game career and takes his total to a very respectable 32 points for the year. Take into account his kicking and he scored 21 points for the week!

Solomone Kata (11) was back to his beastly best against the Titans. His two tries takes his season tally to 12 and with 89 total NRLCEO points has justified his selection in the centres if you drafted him there. Any centre that can get you over 100 points in a season is great value.

Panthers utility, Tyrone Peachey (11) may just have found his position in the centres. After scoring five workhorses in the back row last year and only five tries, he’s gone on to score ten tries so far this year.

Sam Burgess (11) did what Sam Burgess does best – racked up a serious amount of involvements. His 61 involvements and 160 metres netted him a double workhorse and a metre eater and edged him closer to James Graham, Ryan James and Ben Barba for the NRLCEO MVP for 2016.

Overall Dream Team:

NRLCEO Dream Team Round 22 2016

Each week we will accumulate the points for each player to come up with the Overall Dream Team for 2016.

There is a four man break away at the top of the list in the race for NRLCEO MVP but James Graham (148) still holds an 11 point lead. I expect Graham to remain at the top but don’t discount Ryan James (137), Ben Barba (135) or Sam Burgess (131).

With Ryan James dual position status on NRLCEO we’ve pushed him into the back row for this Dream Team and Aiden Tolman (118) is a new entry. The blonde bookend for the Dogs is probably more consistent than James Graham over the season, but doesn’t have many peaks as you can see from his graph below.

There were four new members in the NRLCEO Century Club this week. Congratulations to Jake Trbojevic (103), Ethan Lowe (102)Andrew Fifita (101) and Paul Gallen (100) for breaking the magical barrier.

The following players are still in the 90’s;  Bryce Cartwright (99), Josh Mansour (97),  Jesse Bromwich (96), Cameron Munster (95), Dale Finucane (95), Kevin Proctor (94), Michael Lichaa (94), Ethan Lowe (93), Moses Mbye (93), Darius Boyd (92) and Josh McGuire (91).
