Round 8 Dream Teams

Round 8 Team of the Week

It was a low scoring NRLCEO week with Corey Norman taking out the Player of the Week title with just 13 points. It was a quality performance nonetheless with two tries, a try assist, line break and metre eater for good measure.

Two backs who have threatened big seasons also got their NRLCEO seasons kick started this week. David Fusitua got his second double of the year and Corey Oates his first double since Round 23 last year for 12 points each.

Lastly, rookie Corey Harawira-Naera continued his great form to also notch up a dozen. He scored the third try of his four game career and notched up his first Workhorse much to the delight of the Workhorse Watcher. Despite the fact he’s in and out of the starting line-up, it’s worth holding onto this gem.

Here is the rest of the Team of the Week:

  1. Kalyn Ponga (11)
  2. Corey Oates (12)
  3. David Fusitua (12)

  12. Jake Trbojevic (10)
  13. Paul Gallen (11)

Overall Dream Team

Jordan Rapana only scored a try on the weekend (but what a try it was!) but he is still the overall MVP with 67 points. With an injury to Gareth Widdop it looks like its up to Paul GallenJames Roberts and Tom Trbojevic to chase him down.

His court case is in the news lately but Josh Papalii has also slipped into the Dream Team this week too. His half century has so far consisted of three tries, five workhorses, two try assists, three line breaks, two line breal assists and five metre eaters so far.

The second new entry is a big surprise. Most of us didn’t even pick Felise Kaufusi as a starting player for the Storm let alone an NRLCEO star after eight rounds! Last year he scored 24 NRLCEO points in 21 games, this year he surpassed that after six rounds and is only one of three players left to have a workhorse every round. An invaluable pickup to whoever drafted him in your competition.

Here is the Dream Team at the conclusion of Round 8 (with total points in brackets):

  1. Tom Trbojevic (55)
  2. Suliasi Vunivalu (43)
  3. James Roberts (53)
