State of Origin 1

The sound of Arthur Beetson fist colliding with Mick Cronin chin was the sound of a legacy being born. Mate against mate, state against state, Origin football at its finest.

This legacy may have started in the 80’s but if anything it has got stronger.

There are many memorable quotes from Origin, some that should never be repeated (thanks Joey) but I think the words from the ex-Panthers God Father, Phil Gould are as apt as any:

“We don’t hand you a jersey. We hand you a slice of history. History that is yet to be written. Go out there… and make your own luck. Write your own history. Write your own memories. Your older self will thank you in 20 years’ time.”

And with the Origin build up well and truly underway we will look at the Origin team lists for game one and pit foe against foe based on CEO averages to see which state reigns CEO supreme.
