State of Origin – the Decider!

I have taken a unearned break and not written any articles for a while but much to the dismay of the fans I am back.

Today we look at the State of Origin NRLCEO style in preparation for the decider on Wednesday by breaking down the NRLCEO player performance in Game One and Two.

State of Origin I

Maroons match on field performance with NRLCEO win

Amazing to see how accurate CEO stats represented the actual score in Game One. The Maroons got the upper hand with a six point win over the Blues (18-14).

Gagai made it a double Man of the Match /MVP performance both on field and NRLCEO (if only he could play that way for Souths and maybe I  wouldn’t be sitting so low on the ladder)

The Messiah (aka Cook) as always was up there with a solid 12 in a beaten team.

Worst on ground was “Trell” with a uncharacteristic -1.

State of Origin II

It’s a Blue Wash!

Leading into Game Two many people started the death toll for NSW as Freddy implemented seven changes to a team that lost by four in enemy territory. The media quickly went from calling Kevie mad to focusing on ‘the opposition team’ and saying Freddy had overreacting. Trell was dumped, we choose not to name any centres and Mitchell Pearce was seen extending his limbs well beyond the human limit to stay out of the team. Putting all this aside come game time NSW pulled it all together to produce a a stunning 38-6 drumming of QLD.

On a wet track i don’t think anyone expected this result and again the CEO stats mirrored the on game performance with the QLD backs not being able to get involved and the forward pack being dominated and expending energy on tackling and in too many cases missing. Conversely the NSW outside backs had a field day with points, metres and assists allowing NSW to rack up a sizable 89 CEO points.

Three pies to Turbo, a metre eater and two line breaks saw him named CEO MVP on 16 points while the Fox was nipping at his heels on 14 points.

Game III, the decider kicks off on Wednesday night at ANZ and should be a absolute cracker of a match. The messiah (Cook) and Teddy are joint leaders for the CEO man of the series on 17 points apiece however the bookies have shortened the odds on Billy the kid Slater to take out the title come full time on Wednesday.

Until next time, good luck, enjoy your football and carn you mighty blues!
